Abstract

|
In 86 cases suffering from chronic otitis media, the secrete from the ears, has been examined for the bacteriological flora, and its sensitivity toward different antibiotics.
As possible bacterial etiology was found: Proteus in about 51%, and Staph. aureus in about 25%.
The bacterial flora seemed sensitive to chloramphenicol in about 65%, and toward neomycin in about 80%.
Almost all of the isolated bacterial strains showed resistance toward penicillin and sulfa preparations.
